Usher Pays Tribute to Dr. Dre with a Medley of His Hits at Las Vegas Show

Usher, the R&B superstar, is headlined his Dolby Live residency at Park MGM in Las Vegas. He surprised fans with a special guest and a musical tribute to one of the most influential figures in hip-hop history: Dr. Dre.

The legendary producer and rapper, who recently recovered from a brain aneurysm, attended Usher’s show on Monday night and received a warm welcome from the singer and the audience. Usher paused his performance to give a massive shout-out to Dre, calling him “an amazing contributor to this music industry” and praising him for “all the artists that he has broken, as well as the amazing artist that he is.”

Usher then proceeded to perform a medley of some of Dre’s biggest hits, including “Forgot About Dre,” “The Next Episode”, “Still D.R.E.,” and “Nuthin’ But a ‘G’ Thang”. He even rapped Eminem’s hook from “Forgot About Dre” with impressive skill and energy. Dre joined him on stage and hugged him, as the crowd cheered and sang along.

This is not the first time Usher has shown love to his special guests at his Las Vegas residency. He has also honored Queen Latifah, Chris Brown, Lil Jon, and Jermaine Dupri with flowers, birthday wishes, and musical tributes. Usher’s residency, which started in July 2022, has been an enormous success, earning him rave reviews from critics and fans alike. He has also been awarded a key to the city and his own day in Las Vegas.

Usher is not only a master of R&B but also a versatile performer who can cover various genres and styles. He has again proven his talent and charisma with his homage to Dr. Dre, one of his inspirations and mentors. Usher and Dre have collaborated on several songs in the past, such as “Yeah!”, “Crack a Bottle” and “California Love (Remix)”. Fans are hoping that they will work together again in the future.

Usher’s residency will run until April 2024, with tickets available on his official website. He will also headline the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show in Las Vegas, which is expected to be one of the most spectacular events in music history.
