Mike Dean Responds to Reports That He’s No Longer Working on ‘Donda’

The wait for DONDA continues. While Kanye West finishes his oft-delayed album, producer Mike Dean has addressed speculation that he is no longer working on the project.

“I haven’t quit anything. The album continues. Lol. People read too much into tweets. Lol,” he tweeted.

The tweet comes after Dean tweeted, “good to be at the house!!!” which caused panic among Kanye fans, who questioned why he left Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium, where Kanye had been living while he finishes DONDA.

He also replied to a tweet about the “toxic” environment surrounding the album rollout. However, he later clarified that it wasn’t a shot at Kanye and more at his fans who continue to pester him for a release date.

“I mean toxic fans asking question u moron writers. Jesus. People take shutout of context. Lol. Bye,” tweeted Dean.

He retweeted one fan, who wrote, “He’s pissed at the toxicity of Kanye fans begging for the album all day long in his replies.”

Dean has been an integral part of the DONDA process and had been working with Kanye at the stadium for the past few weeks. Ye was set to deliver the album on July 23 before pushing the date to Aug. 6. However, the album’s release date remains up in the air.

Dean is now back in L.A., but it’s unclear what that means for DONDA. “Also. It’s good not to be breathing toxic stadium air and to be in sunny la for a while. Mexico soon!” he wrote.
