The 6 God took to his Instagram story on Tuesday (Oct. 8) to pen a note refuting what Dennis Graham had to say about his presence in his life during a recent interview with Nick Cannon on Power 106.
“Woke up today so hurt, man. My father will say anything to anyone that’s willing to listen to him,” Drizzy wrote. “It’s sad when family gets like this, but what can we really do? That’s the people we are stuck with. Every bar I ever spit was the truth and the truth is hard for some people to accept.”
Drake has often incorporated how the divorce between his parents when he was just 5 years old impacted him as a child. Graham recalled a conversation with Drake telling him that the rhymes about him being an absentee father in his music were purely to increase sales. “I have always been with Drake,” he told Cannon. “I said, ‘Drake, why are you saying all of this different stuff about me, man? This is not cool.’ And he goes, ‘Dad, it sells records.'”
