With many artists currently releasing music, Yung Gecko is an artist who makes a statement with his musical talent and streaming numbers. With over3 million total streams on Spotify, Yung Gecko continues to gain new supporters every day as avid music listeners continue to discover his releases. Yung Gecko put out 4 projects in the year 2020, (Fake Friends, Quiet, Thots, Time, and Spain). Each song was able to capture his different styles of vocal delivery, whether it be fast rapping or singing. For 3 out of the 4 projects, Yung Gecko created the beats, recorded the vocals, as well as mixed and mastered each project all by himself. For the year 2021, he is planning to work with more producers to collaborate on beats as well as releasing entire songs.
Yung Gecko owns a home studio and thinks having one is the best option for artists who are just beginning their careers. Spending money by the hour to sit and record professionally can very well drain a starting musician’s pockets. Aside from monetary downsides, Yung Gecko does not want to be rushed when recording, and booking studio time by the hour can kill the creative process and cause someone to rush their work. If an artist is not feeling well the day of their recording session, or are mentally drained, they don’t have the ability to reschedule as they have already paid and they are limited to the time they have booked. Yung Gecko enjoys his freedom to record at home and it has enabled him to continue putting out such high quality music.
