YoungBoy Never Broke Again Faces $100,000 Bond in Prescription Drug Fraud Charges

On May 9, a Cache County judge set YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s bond at $100,000 in connection with a prescription drug fraud case involving multiple others. YoungBoy, arrested on April 16, faced 63 counts, including possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, identity fraud, and illegal attempts to procure prescription drugs. The investigation revealed that YoungBoy and his associates allegedly used a pharmacist’s identity to fraudulently obtain prescriptions for promethazine and codeine from various Utah pharmacies. Court documents obtained by KUTV detailed that the prescriptions were called in by an individual posing as a physician, providing valid DEA and NPI numbers for the real physician.

YoungBoy, a Baton Rouge rapper, appeared in court wearing an orange inmate jumpsuit, accompanied by Drew Findling, known for his legal representation in high-profile cases. YoungBoy’s arraignment is scheduled for July 1. Since 2021, YoungBoy has been under house arrest in Utah due to firearms charges from a 2020 incident. In December 2023, his conditions were modified to allow for medical appointments outside his residence.

The legal documents stipulated that YoungBoy was confined to 24-hour lockdown at his residence, except for approved medical appointments, court appearances, or other pre-approved activities. In February, the 24-year-old released several singles, including “Boat,” “No Time,” “Steppa,” “Closed Case,” and “We shot him in his head huh.”
