Why did you first start making music ?
I’ve always loved music and grew up playing different instruments in a musical household.
There were two people in my family whose job was music as well I first starting dabbling with GarageBand making beats when I was 11-12 – I saw it as a game in a way, to produce a collection of sounds that I liked listening to.
What’s the best advice you ever received ?
Let things sit – once you’ve made a track, don’t upload it or share straight away, wait and listen to it 24 – 48 hrs later. Have a plan for what you are going to do next. Always have a plan – never say No, always say Yes!
How would you describe the music that you typically create?
The type of music I typically create is hip hop / rap music. I don’t want to make disposable music. A lot of modern music feels very disposable. The music reflects my perspective on life lyrically, I want to make music that will live on, I want to make the listener feel an emotion and relate to what I’m saying, what I’m rapping.
What would you have done differently if you knew then what you know now?
I would tell myself not to overthink everything, just do it, don’t wait, otherwise you will be stuck in the same position for the rest of your life
Tell us about your latest release?
My latest release is Antidote. This track is a very personal song to me talking about mental health and living in a place where you’re stuck and can’t move anywhere. This is definitely showcasing a lot more lyrics coming from a personal point of view compared to my other songs.
I debated whether I should release this song as it is so personal to me, but I decided to release it because I feel like a lot of people in my age group have been through similar experiences and this song would resonate with them. Even help them see beyond where they are now.
People ask me what is the Antidote. The Antidote can be anything that is relevant to the listener – the lyrics are for the listener to decide what the antidote is, what will help them.
What are you focusing your time on now? (e.g. recording a new record, touring the Midwest, writing, etc… )
I am still making multiple songs every week. However I find myself in a state of self reflection at the moment and considering the next move I should make musically.
I want to make sure I connect to my fans and build more fans to share my music with. I’ve been working on an EP with my collaboration partner Whitty – we are excited about a release that’s coming out later in the summer called Champagne breakfast.
If you could change anything about the Industry what would it be?
I wish the industry would look at the talent & not the numbers. What I mean by that is that the industry looks at artists based on the numbers of followers they have across social media platforms – how big their audience is – to see if you have a ready made fan base I assume that makes that artist with a bigger fan base an easier ROI. They look for how big the audience is and social media engagement rather than the talent.

What do you want your legacy to be ? How do you want to be remembered?
As an artist who can connect with the listener, if I can achieve that I will be happy.
I want to create a long lasting connection that people can return to, where my music can make a difference to people and even help them. I want people to be able to go back to my songs and feel what they felt the first time they listened to it.
