Exclusive interview with singer/rapper Rich Bando

Today we had an exclusive chance to interview aspiring singer/rapper Rich Bando:

What is your stage name and how did you come up with it?
3400 Rochester Rd Walker Homes Tennessee it was always called the trap house it was our hangout spot which was my brother sire Montana auntie house. we skipped school with two girls , we trapped sold weed and cigar cause back then nite&Day had 2 pack of optimo cigars was like a $1.00 we did everything out of auntie house. To the point everybody stayed there because they got put out their parents house or we left home. So that’s where rich Bando come from. Tryna get Rich coming from the Bando.

Where are you from?
I was born in Chicot County, Arkansas. Raised in Greenville, MS until 1995 when my grandparents separated. I moved to Eudora, Arkansas with my grandmother at my great great grandma house until 1998. I moved to Memphis with my mother, had just transfered from Jackson state to the University of Memphis.


Where are you now?
Memphis, TN.

Why did you first start making music?
My big cousin Derrick Hall. I saw him and his home boys recording back in 1996. I recorded my first song at Goodlett elementary. I was a Goodlett elementary Rocketeer rapper!

Who would you say inspired you the most, as an artist?
2Pac, Anthony Hamilton, Tyrese and R. Kelly.

Do you remember the first rhyme you wrote?
Goodlett is the school. I want to know where the teachers and the students
all learn to grow in perfect perfect harmony.

Have you heard the theory that some musicians write their best music while they’re depressed or going through a bad time?
Yes and its crazy but it’s true. if you haven’t went through anything no one will feel it.

How would you describe the music that you typically create?
I have a unique sound that gives a familiarity of old south and lazy R&B rolled into a hip hop sandwich of natural tastes and rhythmic aromas.

What’s your latest release?
Dust In A Bag.

When is your next up&coming release?
My COOKIN N DA KITCHEN EP Album was set to release on April 7th but the distributors needed more time so it will be releasing May 1st.
