Quavo’s breakup with Saweetie may have inspired a new song.
An unreleased Migos track surfaced in the days following the couple’s split that is causing quite a stir, with some fans speculating that the lyrics include a diss directed at Quavo’s ex.
“Young ni**a burnt-out, burnt out / 12 pulling up so we burned out / Sweet little bitch now she turned out,” Quavo raps on the snippet.
The “sweet little bitch” lyric didn’t sit well with some fans, who assumed Quavo was taking a subliminal shot at Saweetie. However, it’s unclear when the song was recorded and it could just be bad timing.
“Quavo – this is low.. You don’t Diss a woman. You just don’t. Airing your dirty laundry in public is a bad look,” tweeted one fan, while another added, “I hate the fact that Quavo feels the need to make a diss whenever he’s no longer with a female, it’s childish.”
On Friday, Saweetie announced that she and Quavo had ended their relationship while hinting that he was unfaithful. “I’m single,” she wrote. “I’ve endured too much betrayal and hurt behind the scenes for a false narrative to be circulating that degrades my character. Presents don’t band-aid scars and the love isn’t real when the intimacy is given to other women.”
Quavo responded, “I emotionally checked out a long time ago and have walked away with a deep sense of peace and freedom. Excited for this new chapter of elevation.”
The drama even caused a family feud, with Quavo’s sister and Saweetie’s cousin exchanging shots on social media. There were rumors that Quavo had repossessed the Bentley he gave Saweetie for Christmas, but the reports were later confirmed to be false.
Meanwhile, Quavo and Migos are teaming up with DJ Khaled on a collaboration for the latter’s upcoming album Khaled Khaled. They have been teasing the track with footage from their studio sessions.
