Lucki Clarifies Misunderstanding with Playboi Carti Amid Social Media Dispute

Lucki, the Chicago-based rapper known for his unique blend of swag rap and lean-inspired lyrics, is currently embroiled in a public dispute with Playboi Carti. This conflict emerged after Lucki’s recent Instagram Story, where he clarified that a comment he made about buying a chain was not intended as a diss towards Carti. He stated, “Like I said from the jump, I don’t dislike you. You think yesterday ‘cause I bought a chain and I said, ‘Crosses up’ that I was sneak dissing you… but it wasn’t that though”.

The misunderstanding appears to stem from Carti’s song referencing an “upside down cross,” which Lucki insists was not the inspiration for his comment. He further suggested that Carti’s reaction reflects insecurity regarding his faith, humorously implying that Carti does not truly embrace Christianity like he claims.

In the midst of this back-and-forth, Ken Carson, a signee to Carti’s label Opium, defended Carti by quoting lyrics from his own track, suggesting that Lucki should have aligned himself with Opium instead[3]. The exchange has sparked reactions from fans on social media, with some expressing disbelief over the nature of the feud and others taking sides in the debate.

Lucki’s latest project, GEMINI!, features collaborations with artists like Lil Yachty and Future, showcasing his evolution from underground talent to a prominent figure in the rap scene. Known for his distinctive style and impressive beat selection, Lucki continues to make waves in the industry while navigating this unexpected conflict with one of hip-hop’s leading figures.
