Lil Baby Arrested for Illegal Weapon Possession in Las Vegas

On Monday, August 26, rapper Lil Baby, whose real name is Dominique Armani Jones, was arrested in Las Vegas for allegedly carrying a concealed weapon without a permit. The arrest occurred around 5 a.m. on South Las Vegas Boulevard, and he was subsequently booked into the Clark County Detention Center, where his bail was set at $5,000. Lil Baby was released after posting bond and is scheduled to appear in court on October 1.

Lil Baby’s attorneys, Drew Findling and David Chesnoff, stated that he holds a valid Georgia Carrying a Concealed Weapon Permit and are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his arrest. They emphasized that their client was unaware of any legal issues, as Nevada does not recognize Georgia’s concealed carry permits.

The rapper was in Las Vegas to attend NBA player James Harden’s 35th birthday party, which also featured other celebrities like Chris Brown and Travis Scott. This incident is not Lil Baby’s first encounter with law enforcement; he previously faced legal troubles during Paris Fashion Week in 2021, where he was briefly detained for suspicion of transporting drugs.

Lil Baby is currently finalizing his next project, which he announced is about 80% complete, following the success of his last album, It’s Only Me, released in 2022.
