Despite their differences, Yung Miami has extended an olive branch to DJ Akademiks, inviting him to appear on the second season of her hit show “Caresha Please.” The Florida rapper took to Twitter on Monday (Aug. 26) to make the offer, writing, “Let’s do [an interview for] ‘Caresha Please’ season two, [Akademiks]. I would love [to do] a sit-down from my POV. [Everyone’s] POV is very important.” Akademiks responded simply, “I’m down.”
The announcement has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some users bringing up Akademiks’ recent rape allegations and others joking about a potential surprise appearance by Saucy Santana.[1] However, it remains to be seen whether the episode will actually come to fruition.
In the debut episode of “Caresha Please” season two, Yung Miami tackled some heavy topics, including her friendship with JT and her decision to stay silent amid the allegations against Diddy. “I can’t speak on something that wasn’t my experience, and I can’t speak on something that I don’t know,” she told guest host Santana. “I can’t speak on these allegations because I wasn’t around at the time.”
The City Girls rapper also addressed the issue of Quality Control Music shelving her solo music, explaining, “When I try to turn my music in, it’s just like, ‘We don’t see [any] growth in your music’ or ‘You [are] not elevating.'”
Earlier this year, Yung Miami released “50/50,” in which she took aim at Akademiks, calling him “Mr. Pocket Psy” and rapping, “Nga dk small, probably why his balls so pissy / Meat puller on your knees, how you standin’ on the business? / Akademiks, you a bch, why you speakin’ on women?” In April, she also collaborated with Skilla Baby on the track “CFWM (Can’t F*** With Me),” which they later performed live for 4 Shooters Only’s “From The Block” series.
