Rod Wave, a Florida-based rapper, was arrested on April 4, 2024, in Manatee County for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. However, it was later discovered that the charges against him were not accurate, and he was released without bond.
The arrest was related to a St. Petersburg shooting, where ammunition was found at one of his rented residences.
Green’s vehicle was also connected to the shooting, but the police did not have enough evidence to charge him. Green has never been convicted of a felony, as a 2017 case was reduced to a misdemeanor[3].
Previously, in May 2022, Rod Wave was arrested for battery by strangulation in connection to an altercation with his ex-girlfriend. However, the case was dismissed a couple of weeks later.
Rod Wave has been known for his music, including hits like “Cuban Links” and his fourth studio album, “Nostalgia,” which was released in 2023 and featured artists like Sadie Jean, 21 Savage, and Wet[4]. He also embarked on the “Nostalgia Tour” later that year with supporting acts like Ari Lennox, Eelmatic, and Toosii.
