Rod Wave is enjoying his second consecutive week at the top of the Billboard 200 chart with his latest album, Nostalgia. The 18-track project, which features guest appearances from 21 Savage, Wet and Sadie Jean, earned 104,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending Sept. 28, according to Luminate. That’s a 24% drop from its debut week, when it racked up 137,000 units.
Nostalgia is Rod Wave’s third No. 1 album in less than two years, following SoulFly in 2021 and Beautiful Mind in 2022. He is only the second act, after Taylor Swift, to have achieved new No. 1 albums in each of the last three years. The Florida native is also one of the most streamed artists of the year, with over 3 billion on-demand official streams across all his songs in 2023.
All 18 songs from Nostalgia have charted on the Billboard Hot 100, with eight of them reaching the top 40. The highest-ranking track is “Call Your Friends”, which jumped from No. 85 to No. 18 in its second week on the chart. The song is a heartfelt tribute to Rod Wave’s friends who have passed away or are incarcerated. Other popular songs from the album include “Come See Me”, “Turks & Caicos” and “Boyz Don’t Cry”.
Rod Wave has been praised for his melodic blend of rap and R&B, as well as his honest and emotional lyrics that reflect his personal struggles and triumphs. He has also collaborated with some of the biggest names in hip-hop, such as Kanye West, Lil Durk and Polo G. He is currently on tour across the U.S., with upcoming shows in New York, Los Angeles and Atlanta.
Nostalgia is available to stream and download on all major platforms. You can also watch some of Rod Wave’s music videos on YouTube.
