Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, is set to release a new documentary titled In Whose Name? A promotional reel for the film will debut at the American Film Market (AFM) in Las Vegas on November 7. The documentary, which reportedly has a staggering budget of one billion dollars, will chronicle Ye’s rise to becoming one of the wealthiest Black men in America and explore the reasons behind his willingness to risk everything in pursuit of freedom.
Directed by Nicolas Ballesteros, who has documented Ye’s life using an iPhone over the past six years, the film aims to delve into themes such as corporate exploitation, racial complexities, and the psychological struggles associated with the American dream. The creators have promised an “unfiltered view without narration,” allowing audiences to form their own interpretations of Ye’s experiences with fame, religion, and power.
Produced by Ballesteros alongside Jack M. Russell and Shy Ranje, with Justin Staple serving as co-executive producer, In Whose Name? is expected to be released in theaters worldwide in 2025. This project follows Ye’s previous documentary, jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy, which premiered on Netflix in 2022 and featured over two decades of footage detailing his life and career.
In addition to the documentary, Ye is also preparing for the release of his next solo album titled BULLY. While details about the album remain scarce, he has teased fans with singles such as “BEAUTY AND THE BEAST” and “PREACHER MAN.”
