Tyler, The Creator expressed heartfelt gratitude to his fans and new listeners on November 7, following the release of his latest album, CHROMAKOPIA, which debuted just over a week earlier. In an Instagram Story, he thanked everyone who engaged with the album in any way, whether they loved it, hated it, or simply skimmed through it. He shared a photo of the limited-edition vinyl and emphasized his appreciation for all listeners: “I really appreciate any ears”.
Reflecting on his personal growth, Tyler noted that he is at a different stage in life compared to when many fans first discovered him. He described sharing his thoughts and feelings in this album as a significant release, stating that witnessing CHROMAKOPIA resonate with so many people was an unparalleled experience for him.
The album has achieved remarkable commercial success, selling approximately 299,500 album-equivalent units within just four tracking days. This includes strong pre-release efforts featuring tracks like “St. Chroma” and “Thought I Was Dead,” which received updates from ScHoolboy Q and Santigold. Other notable collaborations on the album include artists such as Teezo Touchdown, Childish Gambino, Doechii, GloRilla, Sexyy Red, and Lil Wayne.
In a concert prior to the album’s release, Tyler elaborated on its significance, explaining that it encapsulates lessons from his childhood imparted by his mother. At 33 years old, he reflected on how these insights have become clearer to him now.
Looking ahead, Tyler is set to headline the 2024 Camp Flog Gnaw festival in mid-November alongside artists like Playboi Carti and Erykah Badu. Following this event, he will embark on the CHROMAKOPIA: THE WORLD TOUR, featuring supporting acts Paris Texas and Lil Yachty.
