Travis Scott has issued a response to Pusha T’s recent comments through the new track “CHAMPAIN & VACAY” from the just-released JACKBOYS 2 album. The album, which arrived on Sunday, July 13, is the long-awaited sequel to 2019’s JACKBOYS and showcases the talents of Scott alongside his Cactus Jack Records roster: Don Toliver, Sheck Wes, SoFaygo, Chase B, Wallie the Sensei, and Luxury Tax.
Despite anticipation for new music, much of the conversation online has centered on the ongoing tensions between Scott and Pusha T. In “CHAMPAIN & VACAY,” which features Don Toliver, Scott appears to allude directly to Pusha T with lyrics referencing “old n**gas” and a line that plays with the phrase “Made a hundred off pushin’ T’s,” followed by, “Now my phone on DND.” Listeners have quickly interpreted these bars as a direct reply to Pusha T’s earlier remarks.
The conflict stems from Clipse’s June release “So Be It” (from the forthcoming album Let God Sort Em Out), where pointed lines were widely seen as shots at Scott, referencing personal and professional grievances. These perceived slights were later clarified by Pusha T in a GQ interview, where he voiced his frustrations about how Scott handled their previous recording sessions, specifically referencing Scott’s promotion of his UTOPIA album to Pharrell Williams while subsequently teaming up with Drake for “Meltdown,” a track that included critiques of both Pusha T and Pharrell Williams.
Scott’s musical rebuttal, however, has received a mixed reception. Social media users have been divided, with some suggesting his comeback fell flat, particularly in the face of Pusha T’s lyrical attacks. One fan on X remarked that Scott’s response amounted to a “You’re old!” comeback, while another expressed that the exchange “only further proves that Travis Scott is not a good rapper at all.” Still, the Houston artist continues to enjoy steadfast support from his core fanbase.
