Shenseea is gearing up to release her highly anticipated sophomore album, “Never Gets Late Here,” on May 24. The 14-track offering will feature collaborations with artists such as Coi Leray, Wizkid, Anitta, Masicka, and Di Genius.
The announcement of the album’s release date, tracklist, and cover art came on April 30. This new album follows Shenseea’s debut full-length release, “ALPHA,” which was released in 2022 and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart and No. 3 on the Heatseekers Albums chart. “ALPHA” included popular tracks like “R U That” featuring 21 Savage, “Lick” with Megan Thee Stallion, and “Deserve It” with features from Tyga, Offset, Sean Paul, and Beenie Man.

Since then, Shenseea has continued to release new singles, such as “Talk Truth” and “Beama” featuring Lola Brooke. In a 2023 interview with REVOLT, the Jamaican dancehall artist spoke about her journey and the importance of artists expanding their horizons, saying “Everyone is looking at everything I’m going through, which is special because they can see the fight I’m getting, but still see me pushing and persevering. I want to be an example [to] people who are afraid to crossover or expand, so they can say, ‘Yo, Shenseea is doing it, so I can, too.’ Your destiny is for you, and God put you on this Earth for a reason, so maximize it to your full potential and don’t hold back.”
