Nicki Minaj’s Adele impression is unmatched.
On the eve of the release of her new single “Do We Have a Problem?” with Lil Baby, the rap queen paid a visit to “The Late Late Show with James Corden” where she relived Adele’s famed “Monster” rap from “Carpool Karaoke” in 2016.
“That made my day, my year. I probably got a thousand phone calls about that one thing,” Nicki revealed.
Now six years later, Corden asked Nicki to give her best Adele impression and she nailed it. She channeled the “Easy on Me” singer, putting on a British accent and even mimicking Adele’s “expressive” body language.
“In order to channel Adele, I sort of like have to think like a Black lady in London, right? Normally, my British accent is a posh white lady,” she explained. “But with Adele, I sort of have to transform, like she might’ve used to sell crack. Maybe she used to be hustlin’ like nickels and dimes in the ‘hood, then she got her big break.”
Nicki may be showing off more of her acting in the near future. She and 50 Cent are “in talks” to do a film together.
On Friday, she returned with a cinematic video for her new single “Do We Have a Problem?” featuring Lil Baby, Cory Hardict, and Joseph Sikora.
Fans won’t have to wait too much longer for her fifth studio album. “I do know that it’s soon and I do know it’s a lot sooner than it’s ever been,” she teased. “I do know that it will be out before the summer time.”
