Hip-hop royalty took the stage at the Grammys.
Nas performed a medley of classics at Sunday’s show in Las Vegas. Nominated for two awards, he kicked things off with “I Can.” Looking dapper in a double-breasted lavender suit, the 45-year-old rap icon took it back to 2002 with “Made You Look” and “One Mic,” backed by a band including Adam Blackstone. He capped off his set with “Rare” off his Grammy-nominated album King’s Disease II.
Last year, Nas won his career-first Grammy for Best Rap Album for King’s Disease. This year, he received two nominations, Best Rap Album and Best Rap Song, but didn’t go home with any awards.
Nas last performed at the 2019 Grammys when he joined Lil Nas X for the remix to “Rodeo.”
Just before Christmas, he released his 9-track project Magic.
