Latto Asserts Her Dominance With The Release Of ‘Sugar Honey Iced Tea’
Latto’s highly anticipated third studio album, Sugar Honey Iced Tea, debuted on Friday, August 9, 2024. The 21-track project features guest appearances from Hunxho, Teezo Touchdown, Ciara, Mariah the Scientist, and more. Production was handled by Go Grizzley, jetsonmade, Kid Hazel, and Bankroll Got It.
The album’s pre-release singles, “Put It On Da Floor” and “Sunday Service,” were accompanied by remixes featuring Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion & Flo Milli, respectively. June’s “Big Mama” also made the final cut.
One of the standout tracks is “Ear Candy,” which features Coco Jones and was teased in the album’s trailer. Latto pays homage to her Atlanta roots on songs like “Georgia Peach” and “Copper Cove”.

In an interview with Billboard, Latto discussed the album’s influences, stating, “I feel like what I’m doing has not been done before, so let’s start there. [Aesthetically], I’ve been pulling from Mariah Carey, Beyoncé and Lil’ Kim. [Musically], I’ve been pulling from Kelis, but obviously with a Southern hip-hop twist.”
The rapper expressed her confidence in the project, saying, “I love the music that I’m making right now. I’m not chasing achievements. I’m just doing me. This is the happiest I’ve been to the point where I even told the label [to] fall back. I really haven’t been this confident for a project yet.”
Sugar Honey Iced Tea builds on the success of Latto’s 2022 album, 777, which peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard 200 and featured her hit single “Big Energy” along with contributions from 21 Savage, Childish Gambino, and Lil Wayne.
Outside of her solo work, Latto has been featured on Usher’s “A-Town Girl” from his recent album COMING HOME and collaborated with Jennifer Lopez on the “Can’t Get Enough (Remix)”.
