Ye’s ongoing success on the Billboard 200 chart faced a setback as his latest collaboration with Ty Dolla Sign, VULTURES 2, debuted at No. 2. This marked an end to his streak of chart-topping albums.
Taylor Swift’s THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT reclaimed the No. 1 position for its 14th non-consecutive week, selling 142,000 album-equivalent units during the tracking period ending August 11.
VULTURES 2 sold 107,000 units in its first week, which could have marked Ye’s 12th No. 1 album had it not been for Swift’s continued dominance. The album features 16 tracks with contributions from notable artists like Lil Wayne, Kodak Black, Don Toliver, Future, Lil Durk, and Playboi Carti. Standout tracks include “FIELD TRIP,” “RIVER” featuring Young Thug, “530,” and “BOMB,” which features Ye’s daughter North West rapping in Japanese.

The project faced multiple delays before its release, originally scheduled for March 8 and then May 3, before finally dropping on August 10, hours after its planned release date.
Ty Dolla Sign expressed in an interview that the duo aimed to surpass their first album, VULTURES 1, which debuted at No. 1 in February.
He noted, “We got all the songs. Basically, it’s just like, ‘How can we get it there? How can we go bigger than the first album?’”.
