Joe Budden did not hold back in his response to Yung Miami after she mocked him for receiving a gold plaque for his early 2000s hit, “Pump It Up.” Following his post on Twitter showcasing the plaque, Yung Miami reacted with laughing emojis, prompting Budden to retort, “It would be too easy.” She then fired back, referencing past moments where he celebrated what she perceived as her failures, saying, “Another one bites the dust remember??? You was just celebrating when you THOUGHT I took an L. I can laugh YOU was just laughing at me so LETS LAUGH.”
Yung Miami further elaborated, stating that while laughter is good for the soul, it can feel different when the roles are reversed. She pointed out, “You don’t like the way it feels when someone laughs at your accomplishments but it’s cool when you do it. It don’t feel good right!”
On his podcast episode released on Sunday, August 25, Budden commented on her laughter, suggesting that it is a luxury and a privilege. He expressed surprise that Yung Miami found time to laugh given her stressful year. He then delved into personal matters, alluding to her public disputes with fellow rapper JT and challenges with her record label. Budden maintained a professional tone, stating, “If Complex were to do a list where all the female rappers ranked, Caresha would be last on the list. You would be drop dead last on that list. Every female out there is wiping you down right now.”
The ongoing back-and-forth between the two has raised questions about whether this will be the final exchange in their public feud, as Budden’s co-hosts seemed eager to diffuse the situation before it escalated further.
