Gucci Mane is launching a new record label called “So Icy Millionaires” and is offering $1 million each to sign one male and one female artist.
In an Instagram video, Gucci showed stacks of $100,000 bills, stating “That’s what I’m willing to invest in my next superstar ’cause I’m starting a whole new label. Fresh! So Icy Millionaires. So who you wanna join my new label ’cause I’m looking for my next male superstar.”
Gucci’s wife, Keyshia Ka’oir, matched his offer, saying “I got a million plus some extras that I’m still counting up for the next female artist.” She then addressed potential critics, saying “F**k y’all haters.”
This announcement comes after several artists previously signed to Gucci’s 1017 Records label have faced legal troubles, with some even passing away. Rappers like Pooh Shiesty, Foogiano, and Hoodrich Pablo Juan have all been incarcerated, while Enchanting and Big Scarr died from drug-related issues.
Ka’oir has defended Gucci, stating that he signs artists “to help them and give them a better life” and that she wishes “it wasn’t like this.” Gucci himself acknowledged that he was “one of those types of artists, always going back and forth to jail,” but believes in giving these artists a chance when others won’t.
Gucci’s new label represents a fresh start, as he looks to invest in promising new talent and provide them with the resources to succeed. The $2 million commitment shows his dedication to finding the next generation of superstars.
