This recognition comes after a similar honor was awarded to Drake in June 2023, which sparked discussions about local legends deserving the accolade. In contrast, GloRilla’s recognition was met with enthusiasm from her hometown.
GloRilla’s recent work includes her EP Ehhthang Ehhthang, released in April, featuring collaborations with Megan Thee Stallion. She has made significant strides in the music industry, recently achieving chart success with multiple songs in the top 10 of Urban Radio.
