Drake’s Toronto mansion has been the subject of three police-involved incidents this week, raising concerns about the need for enhanced security measures.
On Thursday afternoon, Toronto police responded to a report of a trespasser at Drake’s residence around 3:30 p.m. ET. The intruder had an altercation with security personnel before being transported to the hospital. Unlike a similar incident on Wednesday, where an individual was detained under the Ontario Mental Health Act, the Thursday trespasser was not handled as a mental health case.
The Thursday incident followed two other disturbances earlier in the week. On Tuesday morning, a security guard was shot while standing outside Drake’s mansion gates. The guard sustained critical injuries and was hospitalized. On Wednesday afternoon, police were called to Drake’s home after an individual attempted to gain unauthorized access to the property. The person was apprehended and detained under the Ontario Mental Health Act.
These incidents have occurred amidst an ongoing feud between Drake and fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar. The rappers have exchanged diss tracks containing various allegations, including domestic abuse and pedophilia. Lamar’s song “meet the grahams” and the cover art for his track “Not Like Us” specifically mention Drake’s Toronto mansion and suggest that sex offenders reside there.
Despite the ongoing rap battle, Toronto police have not established a direct connection between the feud and the incidents at Drake’s home. Authorities are continuing their investigations into the shooting and trespassing events.
