City Girls are back with their third studio album, ‘RAW,’ released on Friday (Oct. 20). The hip-hop duo delivers a raw, unfiltered record showcasing their versatility and confidence.
The 18-track project is a follow-up to their 2020 album ‘City On Lock’, which debuted at No. 29 on the Billboard 200 chart.
‘RAW’ is an acronym for Real Ass Whores, a term that the duo use to describe themselves and their attitude. In an interview with ELLE, they said they wanted to make a “raw, uncut, unfiltered, and unapologetic record.
The album features a mix of classic City Girls sounds, such as the X-rated lyrics, the catchy hooks, and the familiar samples (like Snoop Dogg’s “Drop It Like It’s Hot” and Willie Hutch’s “I Choose You”). It also showcases their versatility and growth as they experiment with different genres and collaborate with some of the biggest names in the industry.

“I Need A Thug,” a hard-hitting anthem that expresses their preference for bad boys over good guys, The song samples Tupac’s “I Get Around” and features a verse from Juicy J.
“Piñata” is a fun and upbeat song that compares their bodies to candy-filled piñatas. The song features Lil Durk, who adds melodic flow to the chorus.
“Flashy,” featuring Kim Petras, is a pop-infused track celebrating their glamorous lifestyle and fashion sense. The song is co-produced by Dr. Luke, who has worked with artists like Katy Perry, Kesha, and Doja Cat.
“No Bars” is a confident and cocky track that boasts their rap skills and success. The song features Muni Long, a rising singer and songwriter who has worked with Ty Dolla $ign, YG, and Trey Songz.
“Face Down” is a raunchy and explicit track detailing their sexual fantasies and preferences. The song is co-produced by Mike Will Made It. He has worked with artists like Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Miley Cyrus.
