Cardi B has made it clear that she will not be voting for either Joe Biden or Donald Trump in the 2024 U.S. presidential election. Despite previously supporting Biden in 2020, the Grammy-winning rapper has expressed deep disappointment with his presidency, saying she feels “layers and layers of disappointment” and that “people got betrayed”.
Cardi criticized Biden’s policies, particularly the U.S. government’s continued military aid to countries like Ukraine and Israel while neglecting domestic issues like low wages and the cost of living. She accused the U.S. of only intervening in international conflicts when it benefits them, stating “We never did things to be superheroes. We did things for our own convenience”.
Furthermore, Cardi shut down rumors that she had “betrayed” the country and “turned Republican”, firmly stating “I will never turn Republican”. She remains staunchly non-partisan, declaring “I don’t fuck with both of y’all n**gas” in reference to Biden and Trump.
Despite her political disillusionment, Cardi’s fans eagerly await her upcoming second studio album, which she has announced will be released sometime in 2024. She has also hinted at plans for a Spanish-language project to follow.
