Bow Wow is readying the final chapter.
The rapper has announced plans to release one more album before hanging up the mic. The 10-track project, entitled Before 30, will be narrated by his mentor Snoop Dogg, who gave him his stage name, Lil’ Bow Wow.
“I’ma do one more album. It’s gonna be the last one and it’s gonna be called Before 30, and I’ma have Snoop narrate the whole thing,” Bow Wow told Hot 97’s “Ebro in the Morning.” “So it’s gonna be kind of a different project, 10 songs.”
He explained the title (“Everything I’ve accomplished, I’ve seen it before 30”) and shared plans to reunite with past collaborators like Chris Brown. “I’ma tap back in with [Chris] Brown. I’ma give it to ’em one time.”
In late November, the “Growing Up Hip Hop” star released his single “Raris & Porsches.” Next up, the father of two plans to drop a song about his son Stone, who he welcomed with Instagram model Olivia Sky in September. “A real rap record, not no Auto-Tune, just me,” explained the 33-year-old.
This is not the first time Bow Wow has announced his retirement. In 2016, he said he was done with rap. “I always said years ago I’d retire from music before 30,” he tweeted. “I just can’t see myself at 30 years old rapping.”
Bow Wow has released six solo albums throughout his 20-year career, starting with his 2000 debut Beware of Dog. His most recent album was 2009’s New Jack City II.
