At the cost of losing his freedom, Lazarus BFTD grew into a rapper that is making a name for himself in music.
Khaashif Garnett-Minott, born in Toronto, Ontario, raised in Atlanta, Georgia, came up from a life in the streets. Having been locked behind bars for 10 years and 3 months for armed robbery and burglary when he was only 16, he learned harsh lessons from an early age. Feeling the weight of abandonment by everyone except his mother and sister, it was as if he was nonexistent to the world. Finishing his sentence, he returned home and adopted the alias Lazarus BFTD (Back Frxmk THe Dead) as a symbol of his return to life after the world cast him out.
Influenced by OG rappers like Starlito, DMX, Young Jeezy, early Gucci Mane, Outkast, Do or Die, and Jay-Z, Lazarus BFTD set his eyes on the rap game. His music is trap and drill infused, spitting bars that bring his story to life. Lazarus BFTD can turn any beat into a hit with his versatility and genius level of rhyme schemes and delivery that bring fans into his world of the streets.
The recent release of his latest single, “Tag (Hot Shit)” through oneRPM has seen a jump in streaming and chatter about his name. The trap inspired song shows the raw, real side of Lazarus BFTD, flexing his come up in life and rap. Fans have been turning up to the fun, energetic vibe of the melodic hit before the December 31st release of his grimy drill cut, “Holy Shii.” For an independent artist, Lazarus BFTD is already doing big things and branding himself as a rapper coming for what’s his.
