ARN: Where are you from?
BG: Newport News, Virginia.
ARN: Where are you now?
BG: Brooklyn, NY.
ARN: Have you heard the theory that some musicians write their best music while they’re depressed or going through a bad time?
BG: Yes, I’ve heard of that. But for me it’s not like that… I can pull from it but when I’m sad and depressed I can’t create.
ARN: Are you religious?
BG: No I’m not religious. I have a spiritual connection with the Universe. And through that I take whatever I can take and apply it to my life.
ARN: What would you have done differently if you knew then what you know now?
BG: If I knew then what I know now, I would have never allowed anyone to tell me what I can’t do or I’m not supposed to do.
ARN: How do you currently feel about the state of Hiphop in general?
BG:To me the state of Hiphop is okay. I guess as far as the freedom and the ability to get out there… as for the music I’m not a fan of to many new artists but it’s a few that be killing it… like me
ARN: What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received about your music?
BG: The best compliment about my music was that it has helped someone in some way…
ARN: What’s your latest release?
BG: My latest release is Matters it’s a song with me and my artist Tia Carta, Goldie Doll and Rico Cassadine. It’s a song about the state of being black gay and trans in America and how we still feel alone from the straight POC.
ARN: What other LGBT artist out there you respect or feel doing their thing?
BG: I respect them all just for doing it. But Saucy Santana has a big wave and I love it… and Cakes Da Killa is the Kyng he paved the way for us.
ARN: What are you focusing your time on now?
BG: As of now my focus is on building my company Pynk Gorilla Entertainment with my life partner Chad Bailey – one of the dopest new creative directors out. I’m just finding our place and securing our spot …it ain’t over til everyone want to be a Pynk Gorilla
