Pet Shop Boys Accuse Drake of Unauthorized Song Usage

According to recent reports, the Pet Shop Boys have accused Drake of using one of their songs without clearance.

Pet Shop Boys

The song in question is “It’s a Sin,” allegedly used in Drake’s latest album. Pet Shop Boys reportedly sent a legal notice to Drake’s team, demanding they either obtain proper clearance or remove the song from all platforms.

This is not the first time Drake has been accused of copyright infringement. In 2018, he was sued by Sam Skully for allegedly using his beat without permission in his song “In My Feelings.” The case was eventually settled out of court.

In April 2023, Obrafuor, a legendary rapper from Ghana, slabbed Drake with a 10 million U.S dollar lawsuit for sampling the phrase “killer cart blood, kill a cat from” a song “Your Honey” on the song titled “Calling My Name” which was released in June 2022

The issue of copyright infringement is a serious one in the music industry.

It affects the original creators and has legal implications for those who use copyrighted material without clearance. It is important for artists to obtain proper clearance before using any copyrighted material in their work.
