SZA Expresses Regret Over Brazilian Butt Lift: “So Mad I Did That”

In a recent interview with British Vogue, SZA candidly expressed her regrets about undergoing a Brazilian butt lift (BBL), a procedure she described as “stupid.” The singer, known for her hit “Hit Different,” revealed that the recovery process led to significant weight gain due to immobility and efforts to maintain the transferred fat. “I’m so mad I did that st,” she stated, acknowledging that she realized the enhancement wasn’t necessary after the fact. “But who gives a fk? You got a BBL, you realize you didn’t need the s**t. It doesn’t matter”.

Despite her regrets regarding the procedure, SZA affirmed her appreciation for her body, saying, “I love my butt. Don’t get me wrong. My booty looks nice… It’s something that I wanted. I’m enjoying it. I love shaking it” [3][4]. She also reflected on the importance of addressing her mental health alongside physical changes, emphasizing that personal growth is crucial: “I need to focus on my mental health… wherever you go, there you’ll be.

Additionally, SZA discussed her past experiences with cosmetic procedures, including the removal of breast implants due to health concerns related to family history of breast cancer. She admitted to feeling pain from fibrosis after the implants were placed but later recognized that these decisions were part of her journey toward self-acceptance and well-being.

Looking ahead, SZA hinted at new music releases, including a deluxe version of her album SOS and a follow-up project titled LANA, both set to drop before the end of fall 2024. She noted that her creative process is shifting towards a more positive outlook, stating, “I’m not identifying with my brokenness. It’s not my identity”.
